World Academy of Engineering

The World Academy of Engineering (WAE) is a flagship initiative of WFEO to recognize excellence and mobilize high‑level engineering expertise in support of the WFEO Strategic Plan 2026–2035 and the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

The WAE focuses on forming a selective community of distinguished engineers whose experience can be deployed for complex projects, policy processes, and institutional reforms, particularly in developing countries.

The WAE recognizes and harness high‑level engineering expertise to advance sustainable development and WFEO’s mission. Its core functions are to:

● Serve as WFEO’s premier platform for recognizing excellence and leadership in engineering for sustainable development.

● Provide advanced expert advice, upon request, to governments, development partners, industries, and international organizations.

● Support the WFEO Institute in designing and delivering advanced mentoring, peer‑learning, and knowledge‑exchange programmes.

● Champion ethics, diversity and intergenerational dialogue, creating visible role models, especially for women and young engineers.
